Lots of businesses are struggling to figure out how to adjust to the new post-COVID world. Many have had to cut staff, shift to remote operations or even shut down completely. This has left many people scrambling to survive and adapt overnight to a new virtual world, with completely different technologies and ways of working than they are used to.
Like many of us, I’ve been feeling pretty helpless watching everything unfold from the sidelines. I’ve spent large chunks of my newfound free time racking my brain trying to figure out how I can help. But without any medical expertise (or really generally much other expertise at all), I feel pretty useless.
Then it occurred to me that I’ve had the privilege of spending the last 20 years of my life working with hundreds of small to midsize businesses and nonprofits all over the country, helping them utilize technology to streamline and grow their organization.
Whether it be building websites, setting up eCommerce stores, running SEO and digital ad campaigns, handling email and social marketing, hosting websites, connecting cloud software and more, I’ve had the opportunity to be on the front lines with them, helping “pilot” their business into the uncharted waters of the internet.
The common thread with all of these folks when we began working together is that they were looking for answers, for guidance, for help solving a problem in a world that was unfamiliar and scary to them.
Which sounds exactly like what is happening right now all across the world.
Suddenly the answer became clear. What I can do to help is to offer my experience, knowledge and guidance to local businesses who are struggling to quickly adapt to these new challenges.
So today I’m beginning an experiment in offering a free 30 minute technical “lightning session” to any business who needs technical help as they adjust to this new reality. I will learn what you are struggling with and provide actionable guidance and help.
We will conduct our session over the phone or preferably a video call so that we can meet face to face and you can directly show me any issues you are having, which I may be able to resolve on the spot.
What kind of help is covered?
Some examples of things you may be struggling to solve right now:
- Creating or updating your website
- Setting up eCommerce or online ordering functionality
- Marketing your business on a very limited budget
- Sending email newsletters to stay in touch with customers
- Cutting costs by better utilizing software automation and eliminating unnecessary subscriptions
- Integrating remote communication and video technologies into your services
I’m sure there are numerous other things you all are struggling with, but this is just a few. So long as it is tech/web related, I’m happy to lend my knowledge and guidance.
Disclaimers
- With my own family and business obligations, there are limitations on how many sessions I can provide and times I can be available, so please bear with me and we’ll make it work. To make the best use of our limited time, the more prepared you can come to the call, the better.
- It doesn’t matter to me where you are from or what specific type of technical problem you have, I just ask that you be a local business or nonprofit and that your questions relate to technical issues (web, marketing, software, etc).
- No size issue is too big or too small. If something can’t be resolved on a call then we can discuss other options for getting it done. As a company that has been in this business for 20+ years, we have access to many tools, systems, services and tremendously talented people, and I will be happy to discuss how we can leverage those resources to help solve your problems in the most cost effective manner possible during this time.
So that’s all!
If you think I could be of some help to you, please go ahead and schedule a session. And if you know someone else who may benefit from a little help, feel free to share this with them below.
